Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using Veraz Dating ("the App"), operated by Veraz Dating Corporation, a Delaware corporation ("Veraz Dating," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Veraz Dating Corporation. Please read them carefully before using the App.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 20 years old to use Veraz Dating.
  • You must provide accurate, truthful information in your profile.
  • You may only maintain one account per person.
  • You must complete identity verification to access all features.
  • You must not have been previously banned or removed from the App.
  • You must be legally permitted to use the App in your jurisdiction.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

  • Use a valid phone number and/or email address that belongs to you.
  • Not share your account credentials with any other person.
  • Notify us immediately at support@verazdating.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • Not create accounts on behalf of others or transfer your account.

4. Community Guidelines

Veraz Dating is a safe space for authentic connections. You agree not to:

  • Create fake profiles, impersonate others, or use misleading photos.
  • Harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate other users.
  • Send unsolicited sexual content or explicit messages.
  • Use the app for commercial purposes, spam, or promotion.
  • Engage in fraudulent or deceptive behavior, including romance scams.
  • Discriminate against users based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disability.
  • Attempt to circumvent safety or verification features.
  • Share other users' private information without consent.
  • Use the App while located in a jurisdiction where its use is prohibited.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools to access the App.

5. Verification & Trust Score

Veraz Dating uses identity verification, photo verification, and trust scores to promote safety. By using the App, you consent to:

  • Providing a government-issued ID for identity verification (processed by our partner Veriff, which deletes verification data within 30 days).
  • Taking a live selfie for photo comparison.
  • Having a public trust score calculated from your verification status, behavior patterns, and community feedback.
  • The trust score being visible to other users on your profile.

Verification is optional but required to access certain features. We do not store government ID images on our servers — they are processed and retained solely by our verification partner in accordance with their privacy policy.

6. Safety Features

Veraz Dating provides safety tools including Date Check-In, SOS alerts, emergency contact sharing, and user reporting. These tools are provided as-is and do not guarantee your physical safety. Always exercise personal judgment when meeting someone in person.

You agree to use safety features responsibly and not to file false reports or abuse the reporting system.

7. Premium Subscriptions & Payments

Veraz Dating offers optional premium subscriptions with additional features.

  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  • Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through the App Store, Google Play Store, or your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds: Refunds are handled according to the policies of the platform through which you subscribed (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
  • Price changes: We may change subscription prices. Price changes take effect at the start of the next billing period after notice.

7.1 Right of Withdrawal — Colombia

If you reside in Colombia, you have the right to withdraw from a premium subscription within five (5) business days of purchase, in accordance with Article 47 of Ley 1480 de 2011 (Estatuto del Consumidor). To exercise this right, contact us at legal@verazdating.com with your account email and purchase date. Refunds will be processed within fifteen (15) business days minus the proportional value of any service already used.

7.2 Right of Withdrawal — United States

If you reside in California, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, or Wisconsin, you may cancel your subscription without penalty at any time prior to midnight of the third business day following the date you subscribed. In the event of your death or disability during a subscription period, your estate or you (respectively) are entitled to a refund of the unused portion of any subscription payment.

8. Content Ownership

  • You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, bio, messages).
  • By uploading content, you grant Veraz Dating a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content within the App for the purpose of providing the service. This license terminates when you delete your content or account, except where your content has been shared with other users and they have not deleted it.
  • You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to all content you upload, and that your content does not infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights.
  • Veraz Dating does not claim ownership of your content.

9. Moderation & Enforcement

Veraz Dating reserves the right to:

  • Remove content that violates these Terms or our community guidelines.
  • Issue warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans for violations.
  • Report illegal activity to law enforcement authorities.
  • Use automated content moderation, including AI-powered scam detection, to identify policy violations.
  • Terminate or suspend your account at our sole discretion for any violation of these Terms.

If your account is suspended or terminated, you may appeal by contacting appeals@verazdating.com. We will review appeals within 30 days.

10. Push Notifications & Location-Based Features

Veraz Dating may send you push notifications about matches, messages, safety alerts, and promotional content. You can manage notification preferences in your device settings or within the App.

Veraz Dating uses your location to show you potential matches nearby and to power safety features such as Date Check-In. Your exact location is never shared with other users — only approximate distance is displayed. Background location access is used solely for Date Check-In and SOS features when you explicitly activate them.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

VERAZ DATING DOES NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
  • Any information provided by other users is accurate or truthful.
  • The App will meet your expectations or requirements.
  • Any defects in the App will be corrected.

VERAZ DATING DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON ITS USERS. We make no representations or warranties as to the conduct, identity, intentions, or compatibility of any users.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VERAZ DATING CORPORATION, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, INCOME, PROFIT, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE APP EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100) OR (B) THE AMOUNTS YOU HAVE PAID TO VERAZ DATING IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

THE FOREGOING LIMITATIONS DO NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY ARISING FROM GROSS NEGLIGENCE, WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, OR FRAUD BY VERAZ DATING, OR TO ANY LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS CONSUMER RIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE WAIVED UNDER THE LAWS OF YOUR JURISDICTION, INCLUDING PROTECTIONS UNDER LEY 1480 DE 2011 FOR USERS IN COLOMBIA.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Veraz Dating Corporation, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any third-party claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to:

  • Your access to and use of the App.
  • Content you upload or submit to the App.
  • Any breach of these Terms by you.
  • Your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
  • Any negligent or wrongful conduct by you.

This indemnification obligation does not require you to indemnify Veraz Dating for any unconscionable commercial practice, fraud, deception, false promise, or misrepresentation by Veraz Dating.

14. Copyright Infringement

If you believe that content on the App infringes your copyright, please send a notice to our designated agent in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA):

Your notice must include: (1) a description of the copyrighted work, (2) the location of the infringing content on the App, (3) your contact information, (4) a statement of good faith belief that the use is unauthorized, (5) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are the rights holder, and (6) your physical or electronic signature.

15. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration

15.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal proceeding, you and Veraz Dating agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally. You must send a written description of your dispute to legal@verazdating.com, and we will attempt to resolve it within sixty (60) days.

15.2 Binding Arbitration (United States)

IF YOU RESIDE IN THE UNITED STATES, ANY DISPUTE, CLAIM, OR CONTROVERSY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP THAT IS NOT RESOLVED THROUGH INFORMAL RESOLUTION SHALL BE RESOLVED BY BINDING INDIVIDUAL ARBITRATION, RATHER THAN IN COURT.

Arbitration shall be administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall take place in the county where you reside, or at your election, by telephone or video conference. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.

15.3 Class Action Waiver

YOU AND VERAZ DATING AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.

15.4 Jury Trial Waiver

YOU AND VERAZ DATING EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL FOR ANY DISPUTE ARISING FROM THESE TERMS.

15.5 Arbitration Opt-Out

You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to legal@verazdating.com within thirty (30) days of first agreeing to these Terms. Your notice must include your name, account email, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out.

15.6 Colombia — SIC Jurisdiction

If you reside in Colombia, you retain the right to file complaints before the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC), and nothing in these Terms limits your rights under Colombian consumer protection law (Ley 1480 de 2011). The arbitration clause in Section 15.2 does not apply to users residing in Colombia — disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of the Republic of Colombia or through the SIC.

16. Governing Law

For users in the United States: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any claims not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts of Delaware.

For users in Colombia: These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia, including Ley 1480 de 2011 (Estatuto del Consumidor) and Ley 1581 de 2012 (Ley de Protección de Datos Personales). Disputes shall be resolved before the competent courts of the Republic of Colombia or the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC). Nothing in these Terms limits or waives any rights you hold under Colombian law.

For users in other jurisdictions: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, except where local consumer protection laws provide you with additional mandatory protections that cannot be waived by contract.

17. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Notify you through the App with an in-app notice at least thirty (30) days before the changes take effect.
  • Update the "Effective date" at the top of this page.
  • For material changes, require you to affirmatively accept the new Terms before continuing to use the App.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App. Your continued use of the App after accepting updated Terms constitutes your agreement to be bound by them.

18. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through the App settings. Veraz Dating may terminate or suspend your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms, is harmful to other users, or is otherwise objectionable.

Upon termination:

  • Your license to use the App is immediately revoked.
  • We will delete your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • Sections 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 survive termination.
